Sister Agnes Ann Pisel, OP

Sister Agnes Ann Pisel never stops teaching—or learning! Since 1986 she’s been assisting students at Marian Catholic High School, the Springfield Dominican-sponsored school in Chicago Heights, Ill. The school celebrated it’s 60th anniversary just a year before Sister Agnes Ann reached this milestone.

Born and raised in Granite City, Ill., Sister Agnes Ann has dedicated her entire religious life to education. In central Illinois she taught at St. Frances Cabrini (1957), in the Carlinville and Arcola Religious Education Centers (1960-1968 and 1968-1973), and at Sacred Heart Academy, now Sacred Heart-Griffin, (1979-1986).

She also has ministered many years in the Chicago Archdiocese, including St. Christina School (1959-1960). She is on her second tour of duty at Marian Catholic, having spent the years 1973-1979 there, as well. In addition to her present ministry at Marian Catholic she is part-time pastoral minister at St. Irenaeus Parish, Park Forest. She also devotes many hours as mentor and guide to Springfield Dominican Associates in Chicagoland. Congratulations and thank you Sister Agnes Ann!

  1. Hi Sister Agnes Ann,

Just want to wish you a wonderful 60th Anniversary. What a special milestone in the many years you have given your life to God and in the education of so many. I’m sure you have touched many lives.

I only get to see you on the occasions when you come to St. Agnes but I do enjoy just saying “Hello” to you when I can. I know you must enjoy giving yourself to so many and I wish you many more years.

    Love, Joyce Glandon
