Dios Misericordioso de la Abundancia, eres tú quien llena mis días y noches de gozo. Como las estrellas que llenan el cielo nocturno de belleza y maravilla, llenas mis días de una alegría electrizante y tranquila. El ángel proclamó a los pastores en Belén: “Les traigo buenas nuevas de gran gozo que vendrán a todo el pueblo”, así que ahora reclamo ese gozo como el mío. (Lucas 2:10)
En el momento de su bautismo Jesús escuchó las palabras: “Tú eres mi amado; contigo estoy complacido” (Marcos 1:11). Esa profunda sensación de ser amado debe haber llenado a Jesús de una alegría confiada al tender la mano a los demás. y reconocer en ellos su propia bondad silenciosa.
Profundiza mi gozo a medida que más y más estoy convencida de que yo también soy tu amada. Ayúdame que mi alegría se acompañe por una conciencia de tu mirada de amor guiándome todos los días. Haz que florezca mi alegría al disfrutar de la felicidad de los demás.
Que el gozo brille en nuestras caras como las estrellas en el cielo nocturno. Amén.

Gracious God of abundance, it is you who fill my days and nights with joy. Like the stars that fill the evening sky with beauty and wonder, you fill my days with a quiet electrifying joy. The angel proclaimed to the shepherds in Bethlehem: “I bring you good news of great joy which will come to all the people,” so I now claim that joy as my own. (Luke 2:10)
It was at Jesus’ baptism he heard the words, “You are my beloved, with you I am well pleased.” (Mark 1:11) That deep sense of being loved must have filled Jesus with confident joy as he reached out to others and recognized in them their own quiet goodness.
Help my joy to deepen as more and more I am convinced that I too am your beloved. Help my joy to be accompanied by an awareness of your gaze of love guiding me every day. Help my joy to flourish as I delight in the happiness of others.
May joy shine in our faces as brightly as the stars in the evening sky. Amen.
