Give. Pray. Learn. Share.

Springfield Dominican Antiracism Team member Doug King enjoys a remote connection with team member Daphne Skretvedt during one of the last in-person team meetings in the fall of 2019. The next team meeting Sept. 11-12, 2020, will be completely virtual.

Make the Difference! Join the Springfield Dominican Sisters Antiracism Mission.

We're near the end of "Be Joy. Share Hope. Live Truth"—the annual St. Dominic's Day appeal. This year, more than ever, we need you to join in on our goal of becoming an antiracist institution and assuring a more equitable, gospel-based future for our sponsored institutions and ministries.

Thank you!

If you've already donated, thank you. Your gift is at work:

  • strengthening efforts to listen and journey with those who are marginalized
  • seeding opportunities for authentic transformation that is needed for hope at this time
  • supporting training for coworkers in our schools and at Sacred Heart Convent to further their work toward racial equity

Ready to commit?

If you haven't donated yet there is still time. This link takes you to a secure online portal that will enable you to give right now. No need to find your appeal letter, an envelope or a stamp.

Multiply your impact

If you would like to do something extra to help, here are three easy, impactful ways to transform your heart and transform our world.

Pray.

God of life, I recognize no enemy but racism.
Transform my heart and the hearts of all people
to recognize the inherent human dignity
being systematically denied people of color.

Change our hearts, God, and lead us to
the Beloved Community you desire. Amen.

That's it. Add this prayer to your day. Watch for it's transformative work in your life.

Learn.

On  September 9, the feast of St. Peter Claver, our friend Loralean Jordan (SHA '87) is among the participants in Open Wide Our Hearts: The Catholic Church Confronts Racism. Sponsored by the Minnesota Catholic Conference, the event will raise important questions about how Catholics can contribute to the essential gospel ministry of dismantling racism. There is no cost to you; registration is required.
