“Sisters to the Land” in High Demand

An overwhelming early response to an event the Dominican Sisters are hosting at Jubilee Farm has closed registration more than two weeks ahead of the event date.

Sisters to the Land, a three-hour immersion in life at Jubilee Farm, the Dominican Sisters eco-spirituality center, is scheduled during National Catholic Sisters Week on Saturday, March 9. The event reached capacity on February 20.

"We are thrilled with the overwhelming response," said Sister Elyse Marie Ramirez, OP, one of the event organizers. "We are sorry to disappoint those intending to participate and we encourage them to complete a registration form anyway, in case there are cancellations."

Those who would like to attend are encouraged to register online. They will be notified in the event of cancellations, and can also request priority attendance at future Jubilee Farm events.

Jubilee Farm is located at 6760 Old Jacksonville Rd, New Berlin, IL 62670. The 164-acre oasis was acquired by the sisters in 1999 with a mission to "preserve the integrity, stability, and beauty of the Earth community and to share the gift of the land."

Jubilee Farm’s 164 acres are an expression of our commitment to honor the land and all its inhabitants, wild and domestic. The quiet peacefulness of the land offers opportunities to listen, reflect, learn, and be healed as our visitors experience a deepened awareness that Earth and all her creatures comprise the one community of life.
