Sister Geraldine’s longest ministry was the 23 years she served as principal at Holy Family School Decatur, Ill., (1992-2015)—nearly half of her life as a Dominican Sister of Springfield. Since 2015 she’s become a familiar face at Rosary High School in Aurora where she is outreach coordinator and facilities manager. She welcomes families to the school, is ever-present at alumnae events, and is a great booster for the value of a Rosary college prep education.
She began her education ministry in fourth and sixth grade classrooms at St. Patrick School, Springfield, Ill., (1973-1977) and then taught at Our Lady of Grace, Chicago (1977-1981) before being named principal (and 8th grade teacher) at St. Charles Borromeo School, Hampshire, Ill. (1981-1987) Sister Geraldine then was the principal at Cathedral School, Springfield, Ill. (1987-1992).
Wherever she serves, Sister Geraldine share her enthusiasm for Catholic education and Dominican life.
Sister Geraldine will celebrate her golden jubilee with her Dominican Sisters and her siblings: brothers Tom and Vince, and sisters Nancy Masters and Gayle Trowbridge.

Always enjoyed serving God’s people alongside you during our years together at the Cathedral! I miss your wit, your kindness, and your graceful way of handling whatever comes your way! May our good God grant you peace and fulfillment all of your days for all of the ways you give so completely of yourself. (You haven’t changed a bit, by the way!) Blessings from a friend from long ago!
Sister you are such a blessing to Rosary. You make the girls smile every day. You are so welcoming to the younger students looking at rosary. You are a true blessing to all of us. Congratulations.
