Colloquy Our sister Catherine heard your Word fully as her clear, decisive gaze fell upon Siena and her world. In the winter of their intrigue and corruption she yearned for the summer birds of charity and truth. Your Word was the song she sang to keep in mind the birds that winter made so hard to find. As she hummed its melody, her voice became your voice. Her hands your hands. Even in midst of darkest winter she knew heaven was not simply yet to be but was come already, evolving to fullness and strengthened by your light. Through her you continued befriending, feeding, clothing, loving with an everlasting love. You sent her. As the Father sent me, I am sending you. Sent with the same mission: That they may know the truth. She brought your very Spirit to young and old to sick and healthy to loving and loveless. She sang your song with open heart. Sing that song in me so I may echo its truth: You who make the sun to rise, let your light shine in me. You who send the rain, water my parched spirit. You who clothe the flowers, blossom forth the fruit of your love. You who give the increase, bless the work of my hands. You who guard me as the apple of your eye, give me rest in your presence. You who have carved me in the palm of your hand, let me never forget what you have done. Give me a heart open and ready to be sent. To be sent as Jesus was sent, as Catherine was sent. Nothing more.
