Our Mission in Aurora, Illinois
“Rewarding.”
“Overwhelming.”
“Important.”
That’s what Sister Ann
Brummel says about her
new ministry as principal
of St. John Paul II, a newly
consolidated, two-campus
diocesan elementary school
on the East side of Aurora, Ill.
“The work is important and
rewarding. I’m happy to do
it, though I can’t be in both
buildings at once. The young
parents need more guidance
than I alone can give.”
Having recently completed a
term in community leadership,
Sister Kathleen Gallagher has
joined Sister Ann as assistant
principal at St. John Paul II.
Now there are four Springfield
Dominican Sisters working
to give the chi ldren at
St. John Paul II School the
best possible start in life.
Sister Elizabeth Wrenn
already works in the school’s
libraries, assisting students
who need a little extra help.
Sister Adele Human, a fulltime
Catholic Charities
social worker in Aurora,
dedicates two days a week
to St. John Paul II, mitigating
t h e s o c i a l-em o t i o n a l
barriers that make learning
difficult for some children.
