For many years the world-wide Dominican Family has had representatives at the United Nations, in New York and Geneva, to amplify the voices of the people we accompany in every corner of the globe.
Later this month, at the end of the two-week annual UN assembly of the Commission on the Status of Women, the Dominican Sisters at the United Nations will host a webinar gathering the voices of Dominican Sisters and their partners in ministry on five continents, to share powerful life-transforming stories about how the work of women is changing the world.
All are welcome to participate in this 90-minute event at 7;00 a.m. Central Time, on Friday, March 26, 2021.

If girls and women escape a war torn area, they are at great risk as refugees. Jordan, which has hosted refugees since 1948, has a population of 9.5 million, and 2.5 million are refugees. 80% of these refugees are women. Men cannot get work, and that often leads to domestic violence.

The webinar is the brainchild of Dominican Sisters who serve in Mexico, South Africa, Belgium, Chile, Norway and the United States, in partnership with the Belgium-based DOMUNI University to raise the voices of women changing unjust systems around the globe.
