Springfield, Ill.—The Dominican Sisters of Springfield welcomed 29 new associates from Illinois and Missouri during Mass at Sacred Heart Convent Chapel on May 15.
One of the largest associate classes in recent years, the group included residents from seven Illinois communities and, for the first time ever, ten new associates that hail from Columbia, Missouri. They made their commitment after completing a 9-month course in the history, spirituality, and mission of the Dominicans.

It’s such a blessing to be a part of the Dominican Sisters as an Associate. Their love and inspiration keep me going each day. Every time I visit my own sister, Sister Anne Lawrence, OP, I receive a greeting and a warm welcome from each sister I see.
Then I am in awe when I heat about all the good things the sisters are doing in the school and in their community. The beautiful campus they have built over the years is a testimony to all their hard work and devotion to the Lord
I only wish I lived closer to Springfield so I could be a part of all the activities they offer to the Associates.
