With the exception of a period of study in Aurora, Ill., 2005-2006, Sister Edith’s ministry has been completely in Peru, where she is now co-parish administrator at Parroquia San Juan Bautista in Jarpa, a remote agricultural region in the northern Andes. She has served as a pastoral minister in Lima and La Oroya, Peru, and accompanies youth and those in the process of vocation discernment. She was school administrator at John XXIII School, La Oroya, Peru, 2013-2017. Sister Edith’s sibling, Sister Beatriz Vila Alania, preceded her in consecrated life, making her profession of vows in 1990.
Her parents, Aquilio Vila and Lucila Alania, are deceased. Her sister Carolina and brother Hernan live in Lima, as does Sister Beatriz.
