A celebration of Bethany House of Hospitality was observed recently in Oak Brook. Nearly 200 people joined the festivities to observe the 7th anniversary of Bethany House.
Bethany House executive director Sister Kathlyn Mulcahy said she is proud of the number of women they have helped in their journey.
“I believe after seven years, Bethany House has been home to 122 women with 47 children from 29 different countries of origin. It is a tremendous privilege to accompany the women of Bethany House as they journey into a new life in the U.S. Their resilience and determination to overcome the trauma of their early lives is an inspiration,” wrote Sister Kathlyn.
Bethany House of Hospitality, which started in 2017, is a joint effort of more than 33 congregations of Catholic sisters involved in leadership, financial support and as personnel. The work is made possible through partnership with Viator House of Hospitality, The Young Center, NIJC (National Immigrant Justice Center), CRLN Sanctuary group, universities and a diverse group of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim faith groups.
Congrats on 7 years! May you continue to bless all who enter your doors confused, alone and struggling to a world of welcome, compassion, and new life. What a gift all of you are! Thanks you!
