A growing body of research indicates that urban green spaces benefit people and Earth by improving physical and mental health, increasing social wellbeing, reducing crime, and curbing the hazards of climate change.
Is there a spiritual dividend as well?
“The world will be saved by beauty,” Catholic Worker founder Dorothy Day said.
So yes! We anticipate that our 4,500 sq. ft. butterfly garden will bring all of these things to our neighborhood: health for people and Earth, well-being for our neighbors, beauty for all, and a deeply spiritual sense that all of us belong to Earth, to God, and to one another.
If you agree, please consider making a gift to this beautiful urban green space we are creating where Siena Hall once stood.
Your gift today will contribute to the work of phase one: planting trees that will serve as canopy for the phase two planting of pollinator-attracting perennials and shrubs.
Thank you!
