Father’s Day: We are meant for connection!

Trinity Sunday and Father's Day

They both name relationship, and are about communion, and the gift that love is, and the life that comes from that.

We are meant for connection! We abide in the primary relationship that the Trinity is. It is HOME. It’s how we belong to God…and therefore to one another. We begin in holiness and carry that in our lives.  With awareness, it becomes our life.

Two favorite quotes which speak to each celebration:

Frederich Buechner: “Father, Son, and Holy Spirit mean that the mystery beyond us, the mystery among us, and the mystery within us are all the same mystery. Thus the Trinity is a way of saying something about us and the way we experience God.”

Gerard Manley Hopkins (“Pied Beauty”): “Glory be to God for dappled things…He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change: Praise him.”

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all.
