Spirituality is “the lifestyle of faith” according to the theologian Tomas Halik.
“It is the sap of the tree of faith.”—a fitting description for this garden we are creating, a place where our spirits—and our spiritualities—can soar as we contemplate the greatness of the Creator.
“Every creature is a book about God,”
This is what our Dominican ancestor and mystic Meister Eckhart said.
In his encyclical Laudato Si’ On Care for Our Common Home, Pope Francis wrote “…if we no longer speak the language of fraternity and beauty in our relationship with the world, our attitude will be that of masters, consumers, ruthless exploiters, unable to set limits on their immediate needs. By contrast, if we feel intimately united with all that exists, then sobriety and care will well up spontaneously.” LS 11
