Google maps launched a virtual tour of Roman catacombs. The Priscilla catacombs (Catacombe di Priscilla) had a restoration that took five years revealing many artifacts used in the lives of the first Christians. It is a great way to see the vast and winding catacombs if you have a handicap or are worried about getting lost in the network of tunnels. There is no map, so you do run the risk of getting virtually lost, but at least you don’t need to worry about your flashlight going out or leaving a line of breadcrumbs to return to the surface.
